May 11, 2011 Los Angeles, CA… CBS’s hit daytime drama THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL received 14 nominations for the 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards, it was announced today.


THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL was nominated in the following categories:


Outstanding Drama Series: Bradley P. Bell, Executive Producer; Rhonda Friedman, Supervising Producer; Ron Weaver, Senior Producer; Adam Dusevoir, Coordinating Producer; Edward Scott, Producer, Cynthia J. Popp, Producer, Casey Kasprzyk, Producer.  This marks the sixth nomination for B&B in this category, with two previous wins in 2009 and 2010.


Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series: Susan Flannery as “Stephanie Forrester.”  This marks Flannery’s ninth nomination in this category with four previous wins in 1975 (DOOL), 2000, 2002 and 2003.


Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Heather Tom as “Katie Logan.”  This marks Tom’s 13th nomination for a Daytime Emmy® with two previous wins in 1993 and 1999 (Y&R) in the Outstanding Younger Actress category.


Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series:  Scott Clifton as “Liam Cooper, aka William Spencer, III.” This marks Clifton’s fifth nomination in this category.


Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team: Michael Stich, Deveney Kelly, Cynthia J. Popp and Jennifer Howard,  Directors; Steven A. Wacker, Clyde Kaplan, and Catherine Sedwick, Associate Directors; Laura Yale and Douglas Jon Hayden, Stage Managers and Lori Staffier, Production Assistant. This marks the sixth nomination for B&B in this category.


Outstanding Drama Series Writing: Bradley P. Bell, Head Writer; Kay Alden, Co-Head Writer; Michael Minnis, Co-Head Writer; Tracey Ann Kelly, Patrick Mulcahey, Rex M. Best, John F. Smith, Adam Dusevoir and Shannon Bradley, Writers. This marks the eighth nomination for Bradley P. Bell and the B&B writing team in this category with one previous win in 2010.


New Approaches – Daytime Entertainment: “The Clarence Update” – Bradley P. Bell, Executive Producer; Casey Kasprzyk, Producer and Director; Brad Sanders, Writer and Performer.  This is a new category and the first nomination for B&B.


Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design for a Drama Series: Jack Forrestel, Production Designer; Fabrice Kenwood, Art Director; Elsa Zamparelli, Set Decorator; Charlotte Garnell Scheide, Set Decorator. This marks the 19th nomination for B&B in this category, with five previous wins in 1988, 1991, 1992, 1993 and 1994.


Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling for a Drama Series: Michelle L. Arvizo, Key Hairstylist; Audrey Soto, Adriana Lucio and Romaine Markus-Myers, Hairstylists. This marks the 9th nomination for B&B in this category, with four previous wins in 1996, 1998, 2009 and 2010.


Outstanding Achievement in Makeup for a Drama Series: Christine Lai-Johnson, Key Makeup Artist; Melissa Sandora, Allyson Carey and Jackie Brubaker, Makeup Artists. This marks the 13th nomination for B&B in this category, with one previous win in 1993.


Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition for a Drama Series: Lothar Struff, Music Supervisor; Bradley P. Bell, Jack Allocco and David Kurtz, Composers. This marks the third nomination forB&B in this category with one previous win in 2010.


Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design for a Drama Series: Birgit Muller, Costume Designer. This marks the 15th nomination for B&B in this category with six previous wins in 1991, 1992, 1993, 2004, 2005 and 2006.


Outstanding Achievement in Multiple Camera Editing for a Drama Series: Zoe Edgerton, Jonathon Smilowitz, Brian Bagwell and Jim Friesen, Editors.  This marks the 12th nomination for B&B in this category with four previous wins in 1994, 1995, 1997 and 2008.


Outstanding Achievement in Technical Direction/Electronic Camera/Video Control for a Drama Series: Jim Dray, Technical Director; Tom Luth, Ed Nelson, Ted Morales and Gordon Sweeney, Camera Operators;  Scha Jani and Roberto Bosio, Video Control.  This marks the eighth nomination for B&B in this category with four previous wins in 1988, 1989, 1996 and 2003.


The 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards will be telecast on the CBS Television Network on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from the Las Vegas Hilton.
